Research
A series of surveys were sent out to football customers to better understand what their betting behaviours were on a match day, and what sort of features would be considered beneficial.
Results indicated these top 5 features were paramount to placing an informed bet:
- Football team's latest news
- Teams season performance
- Games lost during the season
- Teams Head to Head statistics
- Whether it was a home or away game
Competitive Landscape Analysis
Time was spent looking at the Football landscape – not only focussing on betting competitors but exploring football team websites, and apps - local and international.
Ideate
Wireframes
Based on the survey results, and the business requirements, a series of quick low-fidelity wireframes were produced to help visualise the journey.
Prototype
Keeping the user’s needs in mind a prototype was created to start my testing with the users.
Usability Testing
5 people were recruited to test the prototype. The participants were aged between 25 – 40 years and were regular football punters.
The objectives of the test were to evaluate:
- How easily users are able to set up and personalise their experience
- How easily users are able to view team stats
- How easily users are able to understand Head to Head stats
- How easily users could bet during a live match
- How does the overall experience feel like
- What improvements need to be made
Test Results
Test Completion Rate: 100%
- 5 out of 5 users could personalise their experience
- 4 out of 5 users understood team and Head to Head stats
- 4 out of 5 could bet during a live match
- 5 out of 5 users thought the app would be a great source of info and quick betting opportunities
